## Summary

A new Omarchy release brings Arch Linux to the Fydetab Duo tablet, built on the octa-core Rockchip RK3588S SoC. The release includes tailored kernel and GPU driver configuration for smooth rendering, tablet-first UX features like touchscreen gestures and auto-rotation, full access to Arch ARM repositories and the AUR, and a setup ready for terminal work, local dev servers, and lightweight containers.

## Content

The wait for an uncompromised Linux tablet experience is over. The new **Omarchy** release brings Arch Linux directly to the Fydetab Duo platform, taking full advantage of the octa-core Rockchip RK3588S SoC and high-resolution display. Personally I hadn't seen as clean of an implementation of an Arch system and work powerhouse on a ARM64 device before till now.

Whether you're using it as a portable mobile workstation, running local containerized environments, or tinkering with ARM development on the go, this release delivers a responsive desktop experience backed by the complete Arch package ecosystem.

**Key Highlights**

- **Optimized Hardware Acceleration:** Tailored kernel configuration and GPU driver integration for smooth UI rendering and efficient thermal management.
- **Tablet-First UX:** Out-of-the-box support for touchscreen gestures, display auto-rotation, audio routing, and suspend/resume power states.
- **Unfiltered Arch Ecosystem:** Complete access to official Arch ARM repositories and the AUR without vendor bloat or restrictive telemetry.
- **Developer Workflow Ready:** Pre-configured for low-latency terminal usage, local dev servers, and lightweight container workloads.

> I'd wait for full-disk encryption before using this as a travel workstation. Snapshots and suspend can recover software problems, but lost hardware is a different failure mode.
