Progress Telerik and Kendo UI are introducing WebMCP support in their Q2 2026 release, enabling Blazor, Angular, and React applications built on these frameworks to expose business logic as structured AI agent tools without rewrites or API gateways. WebMCP, a proposed web standard incubated by the Google Chrome team, lets pages publish a contract of available actions so AI agents can call component methods directly instead of scraping the DOM. Flagship components like the Kendo Grid, Scheduler, and Form automatically register tools such as filter_data, create_event, and submit. A companion Browser Extension is also being released to the Chrome Web Store, allowing users to interact with any Telerik/Kendo-powered page via an AI agent without needing special browser flags or custom agent runtimes. The feature ships in Preview status, matching the early-preview state of the WebMCP standard itself.
