The switch was driven by GTK3's deprecation and GTK4's incompatibility with the app's borderless, draggable window design. The Qt port preserves the existing UI aesthetic while adding improvements: resizable windows from any edge, sharper font rendering via Qt WebView, better touchscreen support, and a new colour picker. The update also brings backwards compatibility with Qt5 for older distros, and for the first time, native Windows support.
