These groups, linked to Russia's FSB and military services, have conducted phishing campaigns targeting Signal and WhatsApp accounts of U.S. government officials, military leadership, and allied personnel. Their tactics include impersonating Signal support agents to steal backup recovery keys, compromising thousands of accounts. Targets include NATO officials, diplomats, journalists covering Russia/Ukraine, and NGOs.
