The restructuring cuts manager headcount by 20% and halves micro-teams of one or two people. An internal memo notes that affected employees have been notified except where local process applies, referring to the EU's Collective Redundancies Directive, which requires consultation with worker representatives and a 30-day notice period to authorities before dismissals can take effect. Headcount falls to near 2021 levels, just under 30,000. Analysts estimate annual savings of $1.5B-$2B, though Bloomberg Intelligence suggests much of that may be absorbed by autonomous vehicle spending.
