Svelte's reactivity model is explored by examining its compiled output, revealing how the $$invalidate method and component_subscribe work under the hood. Because Svelte stores and RxJS Observables share a compatible subscribe/unsubscribe contract, RxJS Observables can be used as drop-in replacements for Svelte stores. Practical examples demonstrate this with a timer, a typeahead with debounce and request cancellation, and a custom SvelteSubject that bridges Svelte's set API with RxJS's next method. The combination results in less boilerplate, automatic subscription cleanup at compile time, and a fully reactive architecture.
