# Upcoming deprecation of Opus 4.6 (fast)

## Summary

GitHub is deprecating Opus 4.6 (fast) across all GitHub Copilot experiences — including Copilot Chat, inline edits, ask and agent modes, and code completions — on June 29th, 2026. Users and administrators should migrate to Opus 4.8 (fast) before that date. Copilot Enterprise admins may need to enable the replacement model via model policies in Copilot settings before it appears in the model selector.
