This past June, the Rust Foundation officially launched the Rust Commercial Network (RCN), creating a way for companies and the Rust-focused community to work together to advance Rust adoption. The Rust community is composed of members of the Rust Project, and individuals using Rust in their personal and professional lives. In just two months we have over 100 individuals subscribed to our mailing list and close to 50 companies in the network.

As the steward of the Rust programming language, the Rust Foundation plays a pivotal role in advancing the language and supporting its ecosystem. By exploring the Rust Foundation's initiatives, developers can gain insights into community governance models, ecosystem sustainability strategies, and educational outreach efforts. They can also learn about contributing to open-source projects, participating in working groups, and promoting the adoption of Rust in various industries.

The Rust Foundation's Rust Commercial Network (RCN) has reached early milestones two months after its June launch, with over 100 mailing list subscribers and nearly 50 companies participating. The RCN meets monthly and hosts async discussions on topics like LTS toolchains, safety-critical Rust, and ecosystem gaps. A key focus is solving open source maintainer funding: AWS's Jess Izen and OpenAI's Predrag Gruevski run office hours to help companies pitch funding budgets, while the RCN Funding Directory lets multiple companies pool resources to support Rust compiler, Cargo, tooling, and crates.io projects.
