# Valve Confirms You Can Build Your Own Steam Machine

Valve has confirmed that users can build their own Steam Machine by installing SteamOS 3.8 on custom PC hardware. The announcement came from Valve's Pierre-Loup Griffais, who told The Verge that SteamOS 3.8 enables any PC to run the same OS as the official Steam Machine.
