Originally founded in 2020 to develop hypersonic passenger jets, the company pivoted after a successful 2025 flight test drew interest from defense customers. The round was led by Mercury Fund with participation from Lockheed Martin Ventures and others. Funding will support testing and development for hypersonic weapons and high-speed military space vehicles. The company's key challenge now is extending engine burn time from 32 seconds to 6–15 minutes for operational use. ## Full article daily.dev links to this article rather than hosting it.
