Evan You announced Vite+ at ViteConf, a commercial unified toolchain built on Rust that extends Vite with integrated commands for scaffolding, testing, linting, formatting, bundling, and task running. While the core Vite and Vitest projects remain MIT-licensed, Vite+ is source-available and free for individuals and small businesses, with paid licenses for enterprises. The commercial model aims to sustain the open source ecosystem by reinvesting enterprise revenue into the underlying projects. The first public preview is expected in early 2026.
