Ubuntu has revived its Firefox browser add-on after nearly a decade of inactivity. The extension, based on the same codebase as the existing Chrome extension, adds a toolbar icon with a pop-over showing the 12 most recent headlines with thumbnails and an unread badge count. It periodically wakes up to check for new posts and sends desktop notifications. Cross-device unread sync works via Mozilla account. The only notable difference from the Chrome version is the absence of notification action buttons, which Firefox doesn't support.
