Brent Ozar is shutting down SQL ConstantCare, a SQL Server monitoring tool, and the Consultant Toolkit, and laying off long-time developer Richie Rump. The decision is driven by three factors: growing AI-driven security risks making it uncomfortable to host diagnostic data from customer databases, slower-than-expected cloud adoption (with some countries even reversing course), and the product only breaking even financially with a bleak outlook ahead. Existing Consultant Toolkit customers will receive updates for one more year.
