Weaviate Cloud is introducing a permanent free tier across its entire product suite, including the managed database, Query Agent, and Engram memory layer. Unlike the previous time-limited sandbox, the new free tier has no credit card requirement and no expiration — it remains active as long as you use it. The change was motivated by Weaviate's evolution from a standalone open-source database into a cloud platform with services that can't simply be self-hosted. When projects outgrow the free tier, upgrading to pay-as-you-go requires no migration.
