Wild, a fast linker for Linux written in Rust, has been accepted into the Rust Foundation's Rust Innovation Lab (RIL). Wild targets one of Rust developers' biggest pain points — slow build times — by dramatically speeding up the linking step in the edit-compile-run loop. The project is maintained by David Lattimore with financial backing from AWS, is dual-licensed under MIT and Apache 2.0, and has Windows/macOS ports on the roadmap. The RIL provides fiscal sponsorship and administrative support to help Wild grow into a lasting open source initiative.
