A researcher recounts attending the Imperial Robotics Summer School at Imperial College London, a week-long program combining lectures on kinematics, dynamics, sensing, control, and robot learning with hands-on lab visits across aerial robotics, surgical robotics, manipulation, and assistive robotics. The group project explored enabling a robot to interact with multiple people simultaneously by detecting active speakers, tracking identities, and generating natural gaze behavior, tracing the full pipeline from LLM-based intent parsing to joint trajectories and actuator control. The trip was funded by UK RAS STEPS as part of a researcher training program.
