Been running Fedora Silverblue for about six months now and the atomic updates alone made it worth it for me. The rollback story is genuinely great when an update breaks something. My only frustration is when you need to layer too many packages and it starts to feel like you’re fighting the system. Still, for a daily driver it’s been solid.

I tried Fedora Silverblue once, it’s way more good for daily-life uses from web browsing, office, music, … But when I use for work (SWE) and I have to run Docker containers - the problem came out, most of them is network problem. I still use Fedora Silverblue for personal PC and entertainment stuff, but my work PC I have to use debian-based instead.

“Immutable Linux” doesn’t sound good from a marketing standpoint. People will assume it is what it sounds like when it’s not.

I’ll be honest. In my early years with Linux, I use to beg my OS to break every once in a while, because that would instantly get me to lock-in on all forums, blogs, official docs to resolve it. This is how I built up probably 85% of my Linux SysAdmin knowledge. I think I would have quit long ago out of boredom. Since 2005-ish, Linux or OBSD has been my only daily driver. Linux got me through undergrad. I just can’t fathom being locked out of the base system.
