## Summary

OpenAI's new o1 model introduces a new reasoning paradigm aiming for deeper problem-solving, but struggles with sluggish performance, poor user experience, and frequent errors. Despite its technical advancements like handling larger contexts and Chain of Thought reasoning, these are overshadowed by practical issues in its execution. The model's coding capabilities have only improved modestly, and switching between model versions within the ChatGPT interface is cumbersome. Future updates promise tool integration and other enhancements, but current limitations, particularly low usage limits and a clunky interface, hinder its overall usability. OpenAI’s execution issues present an opportunity for competitors like Anthropic.
