What’s new for developers? (May 2026)

A monthly roundup of Gutenberg and WordPress 7.0 developer updates for May 2026. Key highlights include early work on a new Content Types system, a revisions panel extended to templates and patterns, and a new @wordpress/grid package. Real-time collaboration (RTC) has been pulled from the WordPress 7.0 release due to race conditions, server load, and memory concerns.
