Microsoft Foundry's June 2026 update brings Claude (Anthropic) to general availability on Azure with the Messages API, prompt caching, extended thinking, and tool streaming. Foundry agents can now publish directly to Microsoft 365 Copilot and Teams via a single governed pipeline. New autopilot agents get their own Entra Agent ID, email, calendar, and Teams presence for working in shared group spaces. Toolboxes gained Skills, Work IQ, Fabric IQ, Browser Automation, and Tool Search capabilities, while Routines enable scheduled and triggered agent execution. Agent Optimizer entered private preview with a closed-loop evaluate→generate→rank→deploy workflow. Memory improvements include procedural memory and TTL controls. Foundry joined the OpenEnv standard for reinforcement-learning environments. Foundry Local on Azure Local adds multi-node Kubernetes, air-gapped operation, vLLM runtime, and automatic GPU tuning. The Voice Live API preview adds azure-realtime-native voice types and client-side echo cancellation. SDK updates across Python, JS/TS, Java, and .NET converge toward stable releases promoting hosted agents and toolboxes out of beta.
