Snowflake is expanding its Cortex Agents platform with a suite of new capabilities targeting enterprise-scale AI deployments. Key additions include a Coding Agent backed by the CoCo runtime, Skills Packages for shared capability layers, Agent Toolsets for reusing tool definitions across agents, and Tool Search for dynamic tool discovery. On the execution side, an Async Agent API enables long-running background tasks, a sandboxed Code Execution Tool (Python 3.12 with numpy/pandas) allows data processing and output generation inside Snowflake, and Interrupt and Resume provides human-in-the-loop steering. Partial Access lets a single agent serve users with different permission levels using Snowflake's existing RBAC. A Versioning UI offers visual configuration history with rollback and promotion workflows. Most features are in public preview soon or generally available soon.
