AI has industrialized cyberattacks, enabling single threat actors to execute sophisticated multi-stage attacks at machine speed against thousands of targets simultaneously. The core problem for defenders is architectural: fragmented tool stacks generate signal noise but can't answer what an attacker can actually do with chained exposures. The key shift is moving from vulnerability-count thinking to attacker-perspective thinking — mapping real exploitable attack paths to critical assets, prioritizing remediation by genuine exploitability rather than CVSS scores, and building continuous visibility across hybrid environments. Defenders' structural advantage is that they already operate inside the environment attackers must discover from the outside.
