In September 2022, Lightbend announced a license change for future Akka releases. The last Apache-licensed Akka version is 2.6.x. After the end of life of Akka 2.6.x, there are options such as continuing with Lightbend releases, using Apache Pekko, or migrating to a different tech stack.
