Whats New in Heroku AI: New Models and a Flexible Standard Plan

Heroku has launched a new standard plan for its Managed Inference and Agents add-on, allowing developers to access all supported AI models through a single add-on and API key instead of provisioning separate add-ons per model. New models added include Claude Opus 4.6 and Claude Sonnet 4.6 for high-complexity workloads, five open-weight models (DeepSeek v3.2, Kimi K2.5, MiniMax M2.1, ZAI GLM 4.7, ZAI GLM 4.7 Flash), and Cohere Embed V4 for vector search. Older models including Claude 3.5, 3.7, and 4 are being deprecated in favor of Claude 4.5 and 4.6.
