Snowflake CoWork (formerly Snowflake Intelligence) offers three interaction modes: Standard Chat, Extended Thinking, and Deep Research. Standard Chat is the default for quick daily queries. Extended Thinking adds internal reasoning validation before executing a single query, useful for complex SQL where correctness matters more than speed. Deep Research decomposes a question into parallel sub-investigations across structured and unstructured data, synthesizing results into a fully cited report — ideal for multi-domain analysis or stakeholder deliverables but can take up to 10 minutes. All three modes consume AI Credits separately from compute credits, with Deep Research being the most expensive. Extended Thinking and Deep Research can be combined for maximum depth.
