CEO Khalik Sherrif explains that South Africa's high data costs make the FAST model unviable there, as continuous streaming is too expensive for consumers compared to on-demand VOD. The company's eVOD service will continue serving the South African market for another two to three years. A South African launch of Openview Stream is estimated to be about three years away, partly contingent on Starlink being licensed to operate locally.
