Why I'm no longer using Copilot

I am dealing with a similar struggle. I’m at the point now where generative AI is just not helpful after necessary boilerplate is built. Then I’m just sitting there engineering my prompt rather than spending that energy writing code.

Losing your skills by becoming heavily dependent on AI is both a concern and an opportunity. I do get the point though and think it’s valid.

AI tools are a third hand, not a replacement for your hands, and I think these tools are better than copy and paste from StackOverflow.

This is how I’m starting to feel too.
The novelty of it was cool, and it can be helpful for scaffolding out code, but at the end of the day I feel like I’m spending more time trying to fix the suggested code, than to actually write the more complex stuff myself.
It’s a step above auto complete, beyond structural suggestions, I just don’t trust it.

I like it. If/when AI takes all the coding jobs, I’m still going to build sites.
