# Why Most Apps Feel Useless

**[Victoire NADJITIESSEM GONDJE](https://daily.dev/sources/8aj21xzlcidt6aosyhwpz)** · [@vigo07](https://daily.dev/vigo07) · 1 min read · 1 upvotes · 0 comments

## Summary

Most apps fail not because they're broken, but because they solve problems nobody has. Key failure patterns include building features without validating real demand, overbuilding before testing (auth, dashboards, settings), delaying user feedback by waiting until the product feels 'ready,' and lacking a clear monetization reason. With AI tools and frameworks lowering the barrier to build, the real bottleneck is now relevance — whether the product solves an urgent, real problem people will pay to fix.

## Content

A short take on why so many apps look good but fail to matter.

Most apps don’t fail because they’re broken—they fail because they’re unnecessary. The core issue is starting with ideas instead of real problems. Builders create features people _might_ use, not things they urgently need. Without strong demand, even a polished product gets ignored.

Another problem is overbuilding. Instead of testing quickly, developers add layers—auth, dashboards, settings—before knowing if anyone cares. This creates the illusion of progress while delaying real validation.

There’s also the issue of distribution. Many creators avoid showing their work early, waiting until it feels “ready.” By then, they’ve lost time, momentum, and the chance to adapt based on feedback.

Finally, most apps lack a clear reason to pay. If the product doesn’t save time, make money, or remove real pain, users won’t convert—no matter how clean the UI is.

AI tools, templates, and frameworks have made building easier than ever. That’s not the bottleneck anymore.

Relevance is.
