Scott Helme has launched whynopasskeys.com, a public accountability site modeled after the successful whynohttps.com from 2017. The site tracks which of the world's most popular websites support passkeys, revealing that 7 of the global top 25 sites (28%) still lack passkey support — including Instagram, Netflix, Spotify, Samsung, Roblox, and Baidu. The site uses Cloudflare Radar and Tranco for rankings, and passkeys.directory for support data. It distinguishes between full passwordless passkey login and passkeys used only as a second factor. Community members can submit corrections directly to passkeys.directory. The goal mirrors the original HTTPS project: use public visibility to shift the internal conversation at large companies from 'should we?' to 'why are we on this list?'
