Google has announced the winners of the Gemini Live Agent Challenge, a global hackathon that drew 11,878 participants and 1,536 projects from 151 countries. Developers were tasked with building next-generation AI agents using the Gemini Live API, Agent Development Kit (ADK), and Google Cloud infrastructure across three categories: Live Agent, Creative Storyteller, and UI Navigator. The grand prize went to ORION, a voice-directed surgical co-pilot for robotic surgery. Other winners include drone-copilot (voice-controlled drone navigation), Sankofa (multimodal AI storyteller for family histories), Moonwalk (hands-free desktop assistant), and several honorable mentions spanning healthcare, education, and civic tech applications.
