Odyssey, an AI startup focused on world models, has raised a $310 million Series B at a $1.45 billion valuation. The round was led by Natural Capital with participation from Amazon, AMD Ventures, and GV. Founded in 2023 by autonomous vehicle veterans Oliver Cameron and Jeff Hawke, Odyssey builds models that simulate the physical world with accurate physics, gathering real-world data via camera-equipped people. The startup offers world models for use cases including video game creation, robotics, and interactive video generation from text prompts. As part of the deal, AWS becomes Odyssey's preferred cloud provider, with model optimization planned for AWS Trainium chips. Notable angel investors include Jeff Dean, Garry Tan, and Guillermo Rauch. Total funding now stands at $337 million.
