A maker transformed an X-cube dichroic prism (salvaged from projectors) into a 216-facet disco ball using gem cutting techniques. The process involved grinding the cube into an isosphere shape called "Santa's Little Helper II," then polishing with progressively finer grit. Each hemisphere was faceted separately while the other was held with cyanoacrylate and baking soda. The result is a highly reflective suncatcher that splits light into constituent colors.
