> Interesting debate. I like Mastodon, because I'm old school and like to do my research and look for things I like. But it's true that it still lacks some "action", even if the interesting stuff is there if you know how to find it.

> A lot of your points are valid, but unless I'm mistaken, I don't think Mastodon has anywhere near the hold X does. If X/Twitter has shown us anything in recent months, it's that Musk isn't afraid to pivot, despite huge risk. I can see X shifting to a decentralized (albeit commercial) model, but the question is whether it will shed a significant portion of its real (read: non-bot) user base in the process or whether it will retain its current level of cultural and social significance.
