Altera has expanded its Agilex 9 Direct RF FPGA ecosystem through partnerships with Mercury Systems and VadaTech, delivering commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) OpenVPX hardware for defense applications. The collaboration targets SOSA-aligned architectures, aiming to reduce size, weight, power, and cost while accelerating development of software-defined RF systems for radar, electronic warfare, and secure communications. Mercury's DRF5660 and VadaTech's VPX540 boards, along with Agilex 9 AGRM027 devices and development kits, are now available for order.
