Godot 4.8 dev 1 is the first development snapshot for the upcoming 4.8 release, arriving just two weeks after the stable 4.7 release. Key highlights include: docked game view now enabled by default for new projects, a redesigned game view toolbar for better usability, drag-toggle visibility in the scene tree, 3D viewport GridMap axis override, pseudolocalization preview accessible from within the editor, sticky tree items in GUI Tree nodes, touch support for TextEdit and CodeEdit, and exposure of FuzzySearch/FuzzySearchMatch to the scripting API. Additional changes cover audio fixes, ASTC 6x6 rendering support, joypad touchpad input, mbedTLS 4.1.0 update, and more. This snapshot includes 314 fixes from 135 contributors and is intended for testing purposes only.
