UK-based employees at Rockstar Games, developers of Grand Theft Auto VI, have formally requested voluntary union recognition for the Rockstar Game Workers Union (RGWU), established under the Independent Workers Union of Great Britain (IWGB). The union aims to bargain over pay transparency, flexible working, and crunch. Rockstar has 10 working days to respond. This comes amid an ongoing legal dispute in which Rockstar is accused of firing 31 employees in retaliation for union activity — allegations the studio denies. If recognized, Rockstar would become only the second UK game studio with a recognized union.
