Halo Studios has cut an undisclosed number of contract roles following the launch of Halo: Campaign Evolved on July 28, 2026. LinkedIn posts from affected workers reveal some contractors had been with the studio for over six years. No full-time employees were laid off. The cuts come roughly a month after Microsoft announced 3,200 job cuts across Xbox, which also led to the closure or significant downsizing of studios including Double Fine, Compulsion, Ninja Theory, Obsidian, id Software, and ZeniMax Online Studios.
