Klang Games, founded by former CCP Games (Eve Online) developers, is launching Seed — an ambitious planet-scale society simulator where players design semi-autonomous characters called Seedlings that persist in the world even when players are offline. The game simulates an entire planet called Avesta, with players taking roles as governors, entrepreneurs, or caretakers. Generative AI powers real-time conversations between Seedlings and enables emergent social behavior. The game uses a companion mobile app for casual check-ins and is launching in early access this summer with a premium buy-to-play model plus optional cosmetics and subscriptions. The project has been over a decade in development, overcoming massive technical and funding challenges.
