Minecraft: Java Edition is updating its minimum and recommended system requirements to reflect the game's growth over 17 years. The new minimum targets 1080p at 30 FPS using the Fast preset, requiring a 64-bit system, 8 GB RAM (12 GB with integrated graphics), a 4-core processor, and a Vulkan 1.3-capable GPU with at least 2 GB VRAM. Recommended specs target 1080p at 60 FPS at the Fancy preset, requiring 16 GB RAM and a GPU with 6 GB VRAM. Despite the increases, the requirements remain modest compared to modern AAA games.
