Ninja Theory has cancelled Project Mara, its experimental horror title focused on mental terror, to consolidate all 85 studio members on Senua, the third entry in the Hellblade franchise announced at Summer Game Fest 2026. Studio head Dom Matthews confirmed the decision, citing the opportunity to focus full team talent on realising Senua's potential. Project Mara had been announced in 2020 alongside Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 and Bleeding Edge, the latter of which also had updates halted in 2021.
