A developer known as draxinar has reverse-engineered the stripped-down server binary included in the 1998 Ultima Online: The Second Age demo disc, rewriting the original C++ server into C99 code while preserving class structures and vtables. The decade-long effort has produced what is claimed to be the most complete open source server based on this demo, with previously stubbed-out features like the user account system and ecology system re-enabled. The project is now open for community testing and feedback, with some missing server resource files still being sought.
