Sony removed approximately 150 games from the PlayStation Store, all published by ThiGames. These games were widely considered "shovelware" - low-quality titles churned out quickly that flooded the store and offered simplistic experiences, though some players used them to easily earn trophies. Before the removal, ThiGames was one of the top four developers by game count on PS4/PS5 stores and was estimated to be grossing nearly $10 million annually. Neither Sony nor ThiGames has publicly commented on the mass removal.
