Turing's Mirror is a browser-based game built for the DEV June Solstice Game Jam that puts players through a real-time Turing Test. Players read 10 conversations across 5 rounds, each anchored to a milestone year in AI history (1926–2026), and must identify which message was written by a human vs. an AI. Difficulty escalates progressively, with Round 5 messages designed to be genuinely ambiguous. Built with vanilla HTML, CSS, and JavaScript — no frameworks or dependencies — the game also honors Alan Turing's legacy and the injustice he faced. A key insight from playtesting: people have started writing like the AI models trained on them, making the test run in reverse.
